On 1, step back with left foot.
on 2, step back with right foot.
On 3&4 do a rock step.
On 4 take in left arm next to core.2
On 4 push on left foot to ground core. 3
On 5&6 do an K-anchor step.
On 5&6 loosen your left arm post. 4
Elaboration:
Connection:
- On 1, your body should go from 1:00 to 12:00 as you step back to perform a body lead, not an arm lead.
Footwork:
- Start with weight on right foot.
- There are 12 knee flexes. At the knee flexes two and four are independent of each other.
0.5 you must not move your head back like you are going to fall head first. It feels weird for the follower. Move your core. ↩︎
On 4, your left arm should be aligned with your ear, your centerline, not be past your core. If you don’t catch the follower, she feels dropped. You may be close to the follower but if there is no constant tension she will feel dropped. ↩︎
On 4, anchor with the left foot into the ground so your center of mass is behind, not on top, of your left foot. Your balance will be unstable if your core is exactly on top of the left foot. Your job on 4 is to “catch” the follower. ↩︎
On 5&6 your left arm can stretch past the centerline as the follower increases the tension. If you don’t loosen the arm, there will be no stretch and the follower will feel “the end of the rope” even though there is more rope. ↩︎
